Job summary

The University of Richmond's Weinstein Rec Center is hiring lifeguards for the summer. You will supervise the pool and pool area during operating hours and ensure patron safety.

Open facility, enforce rules, respond to emergencies, complete reports, and assist with trainings. Certification in Lifeguard/First Aid and CPR/AED required; high school enrollment; lifeguard experience preferred. Hourly rate is $15; schedule about 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard/First Aid certification.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Education & experience: Some High School.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open the facility and greet patrons upon their arrival, including notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to unlock the pool.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations regarding the safe and proper use of the pool, deck and diving boards.
• Oversee activities in and around the pool at all times.
• Serve as a first responder in the event of an emergency.
• Complete facility participation reports.
• Secure the facility upon closing, to include notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to lock the pool.
• Administer facility evaluations.
• Attend and participate in departmental employee training programs.
