Job summary

City of Richmond is seeking part-time lifeguards for indoor facilities including The Richmond Plunge and the Richmond Swim Center. Responsibilities include supervising swimmers, enforcing rules, and assisting with front desk duties.

Opportunities exist to teach youth swim lessons and participate in monthly training sessions. Applicants must have a current Lifeguard Training Certification, First Aid and CPR for Public Safety Personnel.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years of age.
• Graduation from or currently enrolled in an institution working toward a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers, staff, and the public to safeguard participants.
• Assist with lifeguard duties, rescues, and first aid during emergencies.
• Provide friendly customer service at the front window and help with registrations.
• Teach youth swim lessons and reinforce safety policies.
• Maintain clean, hazard-free aquatic facilities and follow pool rules.
