Job summary

Responsibilities

• Open the facility and greet patrons upon arrival, including notifying the on‑duty Facility Manager to unlock the pool.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations regarding safe and proper use of the pool, deck and diving boards.
• Oversee activities in and around the pool at all times.
• Serve as a first responder in the event of an emergency.
• Complete facility participation reports.
• Secure the facility upon closing, including notifying the on‑duty Facility Manager to lock the pool.
• Administer facility evaluations.
• Attend and participate in departmental employee training programs.

Working Conditions / Physical Effort

Requires employees to work indoors with the possibility of heavy lifting in the event of an emergency.

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard/first aid certification.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Some high school education.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard preferred.

Compensation and Schedule

Hourly rate: $15.00 per hour. Scheduled hours: schedule may vary, 10 hours per week.
