The City of Fairburn is seeking to fill the position of Lifeguard for the duration of the summer camp to provide a safe, aquatic environment at various aquatic facility areas, and to adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
Please Note: The minimum age requirement for this position is age 16 or older.
Hiring Range: $15.50 per hour

Requires one (1) to two (2) years Lifeguard/Instructor experience.
Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check. This position is deemed safety-sensitive and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.
Knowledge of patron and aquatics facility safety principles and practices, including a knowledge of the application of life saving and first aid techniques.
Ability to effectively handle or properly refer customers’ concerns/complaints.
Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to monitor guests entering and exiting the aquatic facility.
Ability to monitor guests while using pool slides/splash pad.
Ability to interpret and explain safety rules and guidelines.
Ability to monitor facility for trash and debris cleanup and to perform maintenance.
Ability to ensure that facility space including floors, deck, restrooms, are kept clean.
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort. Some combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds)
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as, odor, fumes, wetness, water hazards, temperature and weather extremes, hazardous materials, infectious disease, or rude/irate customer.
