Job summary

Habersham County is hiring a part-time Lifeguard to ensure patron safety at the pool facility. The role involves guarding, assisting patrons, and enforcing pool rules.

Starting salary is $13.39/hour with non-exempt status. Candidates must hold Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications, and be able to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening.

Qualifications

• Possession of or actively working towards a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Lifeguard and CPR certifications required or in process.
• Background/reference checks and pre-employment drug screen required.
• Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Requires open availability during our hours of operation. Actual shift times vary weekly based on business needs.
• Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of or actively working towards a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position.
• Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard and Standard First Aid.
• Current certification in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certification by another nationally recognized agency.
• Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Must pass a Background/Reference Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screenings prior to the start of employment.
