City of Grapevine is seeking a Lifeguard to prevent accidents, enforce pool rules, respond to emergencies, and assist in promoting patron safety and positive public relations at the facility.
The role requires strong swimming and effective communication, with responsibilities including safety enforcement, daily pool maintenance, and participation in in-services. Minimum age 15 and required certifications are listed in the job requirements.
Responsible for preventing, identifying, and responding to accidents/injuries. A Lifeguard must be punctual, fair, consistent, knowledgeable and professional. Responsible for ensuring patron and swimmer safety. In addition, will assist pool management to develop strategies leading to the accomplishment of division goals.
1. Determines, enforces and prevents rule violations in and around the pool or pertaining to the facility.
2. Identifies and responds to emergency situations and administer care.
3. Performs general maintenance in and around the pool.
4. Responsible for collection of fees and promoting public relations with pool users.
5. Attends all weekly in-services as directed by the department.
6. Ensures the safety of aquatic patrons.
7. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
8. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
9. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.
Safety equipment is provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.

This job entails moderate physical labor, which requires strength and agility.
