Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to assist with the operation, safety, and maintenance of outdoor (seasonal) aquatic facilities. Candidates should demonstrate alignment with the REACT (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Care, Trust) culture within the City of Farmers Branch.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of pool guests through effective scanning.
• Assist with "Learn to Swim" lessons when necessary, maintain pool cleanliness, and perform light janitorial work.
• Attend and participate in regular in-service training.
• Work with guests to ensure a positive pool experience.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Some high school experience and basic understanding of operational, technical, or office processes.
• Employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug/alcohol testing.
• Customer service skills and ability to interact with guests daily.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal deviation.
• Use of standard technical skills relevant to the work environment.
• Ability to remain attentive and alert for long periods.
• Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, writing, and math skills.

Special Requirements

• Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass swimming and lifeguarding skills tests.
• This is a safety-sensitive position, subject to random drug testing.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required for employment.
• Water Safety Instructor certification is desired or must be obtained within three months of hire.

Work Environment

Position involves outdoor work with exposure to extreme weather conditions, physical hazards, and demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs., extensive physical activity, and climbing.
