Job summary

City of Gardena is seeking a lifeguard to supervise pool activities, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies. You will provide first aid and CPR when necessary, assist with swim lessons, and ensure a clean, safe aquatic environment for patrons during pool hours and events.

The role requires attentiveness, strong customer service, and the ability to work in a busy outdoor pool setting under supervision.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard experience preferred in a swimming pool or aquatic facility.
• Ability to observe swimmers and enforce pool rules.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide aquatic safety and supervision for patrons; monitor pool and facility activities to prevent accidents.
• Act as lifeguard and deliver courteous customer service during pool hours and events.
• Enforce agency policies, rules, and procedures.
• Provide first aid and CPR as needed; respond to medical emergencies.
• Assist with swim lesson programs and program activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and logs of activities and incidents.
