Job summary

YMCA of Greenville is hiring a Part-time Lifeguard in Greenville, SC. The role focuses on maintaining a safe aquatic environment, enforcing rules, and providing strong member service. You will respond to emergencies, perform safety checks, and participate in ongoing trainings.

The position requires lifeguard certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days) plus CPR/First Aid/AED. Work may include shifts on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification required or obtainable within 60 days.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• Strong swimming and lifesaving skills per YMCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active surveillance to ensure pool safety.
• Enforce pool rules and warn swimmers of hazards.
• Administer first aid and CPR if needed.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA procedures and file reports.
• Perform daily safety checks and upkeep of aquatics area.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings.
