Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking part-time lifeguards for our Frank J. Thornton YMCA Aquatic Center in Richmond, VA. We welcome certified lifeguards or swimmers willing to become lifeguards, with certification provided if you qualify.

Pay ranges from $15 to $17 per hour, and an Opening Shift is preferred. Responsibilities include patrol for member safety and program participant safety, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Current CPR, AED, First Aid certification.
• American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard certification required.
• Willing to be trained if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of members and program participants at the pool.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain order.
• Respond to emergencies and administer basic care as needed.
• Assist with equipment checks and safety inspections.

The Frank J. Thornton YMCA Aquatic Center is seeking part time enthusiastic community members to help save lives and ensure the safety of patrons at our pool! Looking for certified lifeguards or swimmers who are interested in becoming lifeguards (we will certify you if you qualify)! The pay range for this position $15-$17 per hour.

We are looking for a lifeguard that can work the Opening Shift.

DUTIES of a Lifeguard

Lifeguards will be responsible for the safety of the members and program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS of a Lifeguard

Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and have current CPR, AED, First Aid and either American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard certification. Oxygen Administration (O2) is preferred but not required. The Y will train interested candidates who meet basic swim requirements if not already certified!
