Position Information

• Job Title: Lifeguard & Instructor Coordinator - On Call
• Job Summary: This role involves overseeing a busy community pool with various aquatic programs, including classes, rentals, lap swim, and private lessons. Responsibilities include managing lifeguard and instructor teams, ensuring safety standards, and addressing student needs. It is a part-time position, up to 29 hours per week, with hours shared among staff, including evenings and weekends. During pool shutdowns, staff may work on planning and scheduling tasks.

Job Duties

• Hire and orient lifeguards, ensure certifications are current
• Monitor professionalism of staff
• Lead training sessions and recertification
• Assist with training new staff
• Schedule shifts and manage substitutions
• Assist with reports and investigations
• Address student concerns and assist in early classes
• Maintain records of students
• Act as a substitute when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard certification (Red Cross preferred)
• Obtain LGI Certification within first year
• Experience in a busy pool setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience

Salary:

$22/hour
