Job summary

The City of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida is seeking a lifeguard to oversee the aquatic facility, ensuring safety and enjoyment for patrons. You will monitor swimmers, perform rescues, enforce rules, and provide First Aid when required.

The role requires strong swimming skills, a current Red Cross Lifeguard certificate, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. A flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
• Able to swim 200 yards freestyle in under 5 minutes.
• Pass VECHS and DCF background checks.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers and perform rescues, CPR, and First Aid as needed.
• Enforce pool rules, regulations and city ordinances to prevent accidents.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and pool area.
• Provide swimming instruction to adults and children.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown for swim meets and city events.
