Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well‑being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and document results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Assist with towels, cleaning, water machines and facility inspections to maintain a safe environment.

You’ll help maintain a safe, welcoming pool area while supporting a vibrant campus community.Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.**Key Accountabilities*** Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.* Enforce and explain rules as necessary.* Respond appropriately to any emergency.* Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.* Attend all required staff meetings and training.* Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.* Maintain a professional attitude.* Other duties as needed/assigned.**Minimum Requirements*** Must be at least 15 years old.* American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.* Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.* Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.* Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools. All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:* 500 yard swim.* Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.* Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.* Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.Compensation: $18 - $20/hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
