Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification (YMCA or Red Cross) or ability to obtain.
• Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
• Must meet physical requirements of lifeguarding (swimming, endurance, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area to ensure a safe, positive environment.
• Enforce pool rules and YMCA safety policies.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and water rescues.
• Complete safety checks and maintain accurate incident reports.
• Build positive relationships with members, participants, and staff.
• Assist with cleaning, equipment checks, and maintaining pool readiness.
• Attend required trainings and proactively communicate scheduling needs.

Position Details:

• Part-time and full-time opportunities available
• Flexible shifts offered throughout the week
• Pay range $14.25 - $17.55hr, based on experience
