Lifeguard - CMT YMCA (Security)

The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining active surveillance of the pool area, ensuring safety and compliance with all policies and procedures.

1. Review and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the safe-in-six model; complete related reports as required.
2. Respond promptly to challenges, offering possible solutions.
3. Understand and consistently apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
4. Remain calm and objective under pressure or when challenged by others.
5. Maintain accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code.
6. Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed.
7. Check the pool for hazardous conditions upon arrival.
8. Perform chemical testing when not guarding and take appropriate action as required.
