Job summary

YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a Lifeguard to maintain a safe and welcoming swimming environment in the pool and surrounding areas. You will uphold YMCA policies and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

The role requires CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire, and a current Lifeguard certification. You will monitor chlorine and pH levels, report hazards, and engage with members and staff to promote safety.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand directions.
• Commitment to YMCA mission and values.
• Willingness to act as a mandated reporter for child abuse/neglect.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of pool, deck and surrounding areas at all times.
• Test and document water chemistry (chlorine, pH) hourly.
• Notify supervisor of unsafe conditions or faulty equipment.
• Attend in-service trainings and monthly meetings.
• Interact positively with members and staff to promote safety.
