Lifeguards will help maintain a safe and fun environment in and around the pool during Summer Camp. Needed: March 19th to October 29th. Schedule from March 24th - June 5th: 2:00 - 6:00 pm OR 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Starting June 11th: 8-hour days, schedule varies, but 9-6 is needed.

Job Duties

• Remain stationed at opposite ends of the pool at all times.
• Follow the 5-5-5 rule: stand for 5 minutes, sit for 5 minutes, walk for 5 minutes.
• Stay within 1 foot of the pool edge at all times.
• Supervise children in the pool area, keeping all within visual sight.
• Lock the pool area when no lifeguard is present.
• Supervise children during class swim times and lessons.
• Ensure children are scheduled for swim lessons and are brought to and from the pool.
• Start all lessons on time.
• Make swimming lessons safe, effective, and fun.
• Arrive on time to meet campers and camp counselors.
• Ensure children are picked up by their counselors and are not left alone.
• Check pool chemicals daily and record inspections.
• Inspect and clear debris from filter traps.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and remove leftover items.

Essential Skills & Experience

• At least 1 year of Lifeguard experience.
• Certification as a Lifeguard is essential.
• CPR certification and prior lifeguard experience required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• CPO certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to use technology for communication.
