Job Title: Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at Merryhill School

About Merryhill School: A multi-location school group with campuses in California, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas, offering private education for preschool to middle school students. Position Details: Lifeguards will ensure a safe and fun environment during Summer Camp, with the following schedule:

• March 19th to October 29th
• Schedule from March 24th to June 5th: 2:00 - 6:00 pm or 3:00 - 6:00 pm
• June 11th onwards: 8-hour days, schedule varies, but 9:00 am - 6:00 pm is needed

Job Responsibilities:

• Remain stationed at pool ends or sides at all times.
• Follow the 5-5-5 rule: stand for 5 minutes, sit for 5 minutes, walk for 5 minutes.
• Stay within 1 foot of the pool edge.
• Maintain visual supervision of all children in the pool area.
• Lock the pool when no lifeguard is present.
• Supervise children during swim classes and lessons.
• Ensure children are scheduled for lessons and are supervised during transport to and from the pool.
• Start lessons punctually and ensure they are safe, effective, and enjoyable.
• Arrive on time to coordinate with camp staff and campers.
• Ensure children are picked up by their camp counselors and are never left alone.
• Check and record pool chemical levels daily.
• Inspect and clear debris from pool filters and traps.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and remove leftover items.

Required Skills & Experience:

• At least 1 year of Lifeguard experience.
• Valid Lifeguard certification.
• CPR certification and prior lifeguard experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• CPO certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with technology for communication with staff, parents, and administration.
