Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Urbandale, IA seeks an Aquatics Lifeguard to ensure pool safety, monitoring indoor/outdoor pools and the deck. You will assist with lap and recreational swimming, oversee water slides, and help run aquatics events.

You will greet members, perform rescues and first aid, enforce safe swim areas, and keep the pool area clean. A safety-minded, customer-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR and First Aid certifications (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires).
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping and tread water for 1 minute.
• Ability to retrieve a 10 lb diving brick and return it to the surface.
• Ability to lift or bend to raise more than 20 lbs.
• Excellent customer service and guest interaction skills.

Position Requirements

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first)
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 300 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to tread water for 1 minute
• Ability to swim, retrieve a 10 lb diving brick from the bottom of the pool and swim the brick to the top without stopping
• Ability to routinely bend to raise more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• 6 months of customer service experience
