Are you ready to dive into an unforgettable summer adventure? City of Pickerington is seeking responsible, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our summer pool staff team. Under supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director and Pool Manager, ensure patron safety through careful observation, emergency response, and enforcement of safety policies.
Qualifications: Minimum age 16, enrolled in high school or higher education, or possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Licensure/Certification: Must be CPR/AED and First Aid certified, lifeguard certified. The City will pay for certifications.
Knowledge of lifeguarding, rescue, and first aid. Skills in customer service, communication, and swimming. Ability to read directives, solve problems, and develop effective working relationships.
Water rescue and first aid equipment such as AED, backboard, C-collar, etc.
Exposure to chemicals, weather, crowds, potential injuries, and infectious diseases. May work irregular shifts and in noisy environments. Considered light work according to DOL standards.
None directly supervised.
OPERS pension (14% of gross paid by the City).
