Job summary

Health Wellness Center at Hunterdon Healthcare System in Clinton, NJ, seeks a part-time lifeguard to supervise the pool and aquatic area. Shifts run Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering a scheduling window with a 7-hour day.

The role includes ensuring safety, completing logs, and promoting a positive experience for members and staff. Requirements include at least 1 year lifeguard experience and current Certified Lifeguard with CPR/AED/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool/whirlpool/aquatic area to maintain a clean, safe environment.

• Maintain accurate Aquatic Logs.
• Engage with aquatic users, instructors, and supervisors to support member satisfaction.

Position Summary

Supervise activities and use of pool/whirlpool/aquatic area to ensure a clean, safe environment.

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Maintains a neat, orderly, and safe aquatic environment.
• Properly performs duties according to established guidelines.
• Understands importance of complete and accurate Aquatic Log entries.
• Recognizes the value of member satisfaction through positive interactions with aquatic users, instructors, CPOs, and supervisors.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required: None

Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

At least 1 year lifeguard experience

Required: License, Registry or Certification

Certified Lifeguard, includes CPR/AED/FIRST AID

Required: Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

• Ability to direct and participate in the extrication of bodies from the water in an emergency, familiarity with backboard and other water safety devices.
• Ability to communicate with different age groups regarding water safety rules and/or instruction
