Job summary

Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys & Girls Club is seeking Lifeguards for multiple shifts at its indoor pool. The role focuses on vigilant supervision, enforcing pool rules, and delivering high-quality customer service to members.

Required certifications include ARC Lifeguard, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer. High School diploma preferred. Training and eligibility for pool operations are provided.

Qualifications

• High School graduate preferred.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.
• American Red Cross CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer is required.
• American Red Cross First Aid for the Professional Rescuer is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of pool area and respond to emergencies.
• Enforce pool rules and policies with a professional, friendly demeanor.
• Instruct swim lessons or aqua fitness as needed.
• Open and close the pool and locker rooms.
• Ensure pool area and locker rooms are clean and safe.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Test and report pool water chemistry to supervisor.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.

The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys & Girls Club is looking for Lifeguards for various shifts

Pay: starting at $17.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Lifeguard is responsible for the monitoring and surveillance of all pool activity within our six lane, twenty-five yard indoor swimming pool. The Lifeguard provides a high level of customer service and ensures a safe positive pool environment. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe environment in the pool area by maintaining a high level of alertness, taking occasional walks around the deck to ensure safety of swimmers, responding immediately to an emergency, and actively administers first aid or other established emergency procedures.
• Safeguards and regulates conduct of members by communicating and enforcing pool policies, rules and regulations in a personable and professional manner to provide a safe and fun atmosphere.
• May be asked to Instruct and evaluate members in swim lessons.
• May be asked to instruct adult aqua fitness class.
• Begin and end classes on time. Be prepared and clean up supplies used after class.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all members and participants. Greeting members and offering assistance as appropriate.
• Perform sanitary and cleanliness up keep of the pool area and locker rooms.
• Set up pool for various activities such as laps, classes, etc.
• Communicates any potential dangerous elements of the facility to the supervisor.
• Test the water, record results, and report imbalances to supervisor.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the pool and locker rooms.
• Attends all staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Report all problems and concerns to the Aquatics Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience: High School graduate preferred. American Red Cross CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Red Cross First Aid for the professional rescuer, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required.

License/Certification:
