Job summary

Allegheny Health Network’s LifeFlight dispatch center is seeking a communications coordinator to route flight requests, coordinate critical care transports, and monitor heliport activity in a fast-paced environment.

You will enter data in EPIC, register transports, and ensure proper documentation for EMS charts while supporting One-Call operations. EMT with dispatching experience is preferred, with a GED/HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• EMT with dispatching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate flight requests and critical care transports, and monitor flight following.
• Enter data for all activities in the communication center.
• Register LifeFlight transports and bill in EPIC; document patient care in EMS charts; support One-Call.
• Coordinate and dispatch specialty teams within WPAHS facilities.
• Monitor incoming traffic to heliport and safety watch.
• Receive EMS medical command notifications by telephone and radio.
• Provide offload support to flight team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
