Job summary

The candidate must hold Texas EC-12 special education certification, a bachelor’s degree, strong organization and communication skills, and be prepared to address trauma-informed needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Special Education EC-12 teaching certification.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students.
• Understanding of trauma and its impact on students.
• Fingerprinting is required.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.
• Plan and implement instructional interventions and activities aligned to IEP/504.
• Establish open communication with the principal, staff, parents, and students.
• Manage student behavior according to the treatment plan and codes.
• Conduct ongoing assessment and use data to inform instruction.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
