Job summary

Concord Community Schools in Concord High School is seeking a Life Skills Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in a Life Skills program, under the supervision of licensed staff. The role includes implementing IEPs, supporting communication and daily living skills, and ensuring student safety throughout the school day.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; must meet district/state/federal requirements.
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and implement procedures with consistency.
Ability to manage challenging behavior calmly while maintaining student dignity and safety.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling student information.

Responsibilities

Provide direct instructional and classroom support to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Implement instructional activities, accommodations, and supports identified in IEPs.
Assist students with functional academics, communication, social interaction, daily living skills, and independence.
Support students with personal care needs, mobility, and transfers.
Implement behavior intervention plans and crisis-prevention procedures as directed.
Collect and accurately record student performance, behavior, and participation data.
