Job summary

Concord Community Schools is seeking a Life Skills Special Education Paraprofessional at Concord High School to support students with moderate to severe disabilities in a Life Skills program. The role reports to the Building Principal(s) and Life Skills Teacher of Record and involves implementing IEPs, AAC supports, and daily living skills across school and community environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must meet district, state, and federal requirements.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and implement procedures with consistency and accuracy.
• Ability to manage adverse behavior calmly while maintaining student dignity and safety.
• Ability to assist with personal care, mobility, positioning, and transfers; meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional and classroom support to students with disabilities.
• Implement IEP supports, accommodations, and communication systems.
• Assist students with functional academics, communication, social skills, and daily living skills.
• Support personal care needs including toileting, hygiene, feeding, dressing, and mobility.
• Implement behavior plans and crisis-prevention procedures as directed by licensed staff.
• Maintain student confidentiality and data recording as directed by teachers.
