Job summary

Washougal School District is seeking a Paraeducator - Life Skills (Temporary) to assist certificated teachers in supervising and instructing individual or small groups of students.

The position offers part-time hours (6.5 hours/day on regular days; shared sessions on other days), with a rate of pay between $24.70 and $28.36 per hour and a 60-day probation for new employees. Begins with supportive duties under direct supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 2.5 GPA (Must meet State requirements)
• Pre-employment Proficiency Test (if needed)

Responsibilities

• Administers a variety of assessments (e.g. reading fluency, DIBELs) for the purpose of providing information regarding student progress.
• Assists students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Instructs special education students and other identified students, one on one or in small groups for the purpose of assisting students in making progress on their IEP goals.
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area, student files/records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items and/or providing reliable information.
