Job summary

Orting School District is seeking a paraeducator to support life skills students under certificated staff supervision. You will work one-on-one or in small groups to assist in instructional activities.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) with AA degree or 72 credits, and have or obtain First Aid/CPR certification. Responsibilities include instructional support, student supervision, and PDA duties after training.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher preferred or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits at 100 level or above.
• Ability to relate to students, staff and parents and to communicate clearly.
• Ability to use appropriate strategies to provide instructional support and meet student needs.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with daily tasks and participate in instructional activities.
• Work with students individually or in small groups in various subjects.
• Assist in designing, implementing and evaluating instructional programs and progress.
• Support staff and maintain student supervision and classroom discipline.
• Perform clerical duties and district-related tasks.
• Become a PDA after required training to support eligible students.
