Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator for Life Skills to support a student one-on-one. The role runs 6.5 hours per day, during 9 months each year, with non-exempt wage status and immediate starting date.

The position focuses on safety, life skills instruction, and collaborative work with teachers and staff to implement goals and track progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One of the following: Associate's degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or ParaPro score 461+.
• One year of related experience in education preferred.
• Experience on an educational team preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one paraeducator support for Life Skills students.
• Assist in implementing educational programs and behavioral plans.
• Support safety and student well-being, including de-escalation when needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to document progress.
• Attend required trainings and maintain confidentiality.
