Job summary

REACH Services in Pomona, CA seeks a dedicated caregiver/educator to assist in directly delivering educational, vocational, and supported living services for individuals with disabilities. You will help implement skills objectives, support daily routines, and participate in planning and safety activities.

The role requires physical ability to lift 50–80 pounds, a valid CA driver’s license, and a willingness to learn; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• An interest in and willingness to learn and understand issues as they relate to training and vocational needs of individuals with disabilities and adaptive needs.
• A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid California driver’s license, automobile insurance, good DMV driving record; possess a reliable vehicle; ability to lift 50–80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing vocational, independent and interdependent living skills objectives.
• Be knowledgeable about participant needs and backgrounds.
• Participate in meetings to support development of Living Skills and Vocational objectives.
• Support healthful habits and daily routines for participants, including basic self-care.
• Assist in maintaining progress notes and reports for assigned individuals.
• Participate in trainings and implement new techniques and practices.
• Provide instruction and support to execute individual support plans.
• Transport participants to activities in the community as needed.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and safety programs.
• Follow REACH policies including timekeeping, safety, and communications.
