Job summary

Spread Your Wings, LLC – ILS Services is hiring a Life Skills Mentor/Coach to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Salinas-area communities. This part-time position covers Carmel Valley and Pebble Beach, requiring bilingual English/Spanish communication and reliable transportation.

You’ll spend most of your time in the field, helping clients build independence in daily living skills, with documentation of progress and collaboration with program staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Able to commute in and around the Carmel Valley & Pebble Beach areas.
• Able to pass a background check (per state industry standards).
• Computer literacy: MS Word, email, basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Coach clients on building independent living skills (e.g., cooking, budgeting, hygiene).
• Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
• Help plan, create, and organize weekly goals and schedules for clients.
• Provide consistent documentation of progress through case notes and quarterly reports.
• Spend 90% of time in the field with clients and 10% on admin/documentation.
• Collaborate with program managers, regional center coordinators, and training staff.
