The role requires a registered USPTO patent agent or eligibility to sit for the USPTO exam, a full-time schedule with in-office presence of at least three days per week, and tuition assistance for

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field (or M.D. with research experience).
• Must be a registered USPTO patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.
• Full-time role with in-office requirement of at least three days a week.
• Law school tuition assistance is available to qualified patent agent candidates.
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Broad scientific knowledge in biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Analyze patents and scientific papers to assist patent attorneys on prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
• Participate in post-grant procedures at the USPTO.
