Job summary

GBA in Colorado seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Life Sciences to support the design and documentation of bio-pharma projects. You will prepare construction documents, review shop drawings, and assist with permitting and code compliance on bio-pharma related facilities in the Broomfield area.

The Buildings Group at GBA offers exposure to an integrated team of engineers, architects, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers, with a focus on life sciences.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or other related field from accredited program
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Excel software is preferred
• Finished at least two years of school
• 2.7 GPA strongly preferred
• Completed at least two years of college courses; prior internship and/or related experience is a plus
• Involvement in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction documents for various systems
• Review shop drawings and RFIs
• Verify permitting and code requirements
• Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies
• Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning
• Perform other duties as assigned
