Job summary

Overview

• The practice counsels life science companies, investment firms, academic research institutions, and NGOs involved in the discovery, development, manufacture, and commercialization of novel therapeutics, devices, digital health and research tools, and diagnostics.
• The role focuses on leading and supporting transactions for clinical-stage and commercial-stage manufacturing, manufacturing technology licensing, and related supply chain arrangements for therapeutic products. This includes drafting and negotiating complex agreements for biologics, gene therapies, large-molecule products, manufacturing services, quality, supply, and licensing arrangements.
• Responsibilities include counseling clients on strategic goals, identifying key legal and business issues, developing practical solutions, and engaging directly with technical operations, quality, business development, senior management, and boards of directors at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and CDMOs.
• Requires deep experience with clinical-stage and commercial-stage manufacturing, manufacturing technology licensing, and supply chain agreements for therapeutic products, gained in a sophisticated life sciences transactional practice at a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with biology and chemistry principles relevant to pharmaceutical design and function, an understanding of the regulatory framework governing therapeutic development and commercialization, and knowledge of intellectual property licensing and biotechnology business development practices.
• The position involves supervising and mentoring junior lawyers while contributing to knowledge sharing across the practice.
