Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking an experienced Assurance Partner to lead audit and assurance client relationships within the Life Sciences practice in Boston. You will guide engagement teams, manage complex portfolios, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and firm leadership.

This role emphasizes growth, quality delivery, and risk management while leveraging RSM’s resources and cross-firm capabilities to expand the client base in biotech hubs nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Active CPA license in state of residence required.
• 13+ years of progressive public accounting or external audit or assurance experience, including leading engagements.
• Proven track record of building a substantial client portfolio and achieving engagement profitability.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills across large audit portfolios and talent development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as audit engagement leader and client service coordinator, managing required financial statements, disclosures, and client deliverables.
• Manage multiple engagements, oversee engagement status, and milestones for complex audit projects.
• Identify technical accounting and auditing matters early, assess impact, and coordinate with firm specialists as needed.
• Review work product, communicate audit status to clients, and allocate resources for project completion.
• Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to deepen relationships and understand client goals.
• Manage profitability, billing, collections, engagement economics, and adherence to firm standards.
• Assess risk and design audit procedures for engagement teams.
• Develop external relationships to support business growth and brand presence.
• Provide insightful business advice and present as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.
• Understand team members' skillsets, provide coaching, and participate in talent development.
