Job summary

Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is seeking a part-time swim instructor to lead, instruct, and motivate students in swimming classes. You will follow YMCA guidelines, develop lesson plans, and help participants learn water safety.

Responsibilities include maintaining progress records, communicating with students and families, and ensuring a safe aquatic environment while delivering engaging lessons and adhering to national YMCA programs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with people of all ages.
• No degree required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines and prepared lesson plans.
• Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents.
• Convey information on aquatic programs and schedules to students and families.
• Maintain progress records and other required documentation.
• Provide safety in the aquatic environment and enforce class discipline and safety procedures.
