Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a clinically experienced professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency medical care for donors and staff. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and assist with follow-up on reactive test results.

Collaborating with the Center Medical Director, you will assess donor status, ensure compliance with SOPs, and escalate critical cases to physicians or local medical services as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
• CPR Certification Required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff in accordance with licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Collaborate with Center Medical Director to respond to medically related questions and provide donor information.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical services as required.
