Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Sparkill, NY seeks Emergency Medical Dispatchers to handle urgent medical calls, confirm locations, gather patient data, and coordinate ambulance resources. You will follow approved medical dispatch protocols and provide instruction before responders arrive as trained.

Typical shifts may include overnight, weekends and holidays. A current EMT or paramedic credential is not universally required and training may be provided by the employer, with CPR certification

Qualifications

• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required.
• EMD certification prior to appointment may be required depending on vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm location, callback number and access details.
• Ask approved questions about patient condition.
• Determine response priority through the medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when required.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responders.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
