Job summary

Vitalant in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Hospital Delivery Technician to safely transport blood products between Vitalant locations and hospital partners. Shift: Tuesday–Saturday 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

You will verify orders, maintain temperature control, and document deliveries while representing Vitalant with professionalism. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills preferred.
• Ability to accurately complete required documentation and use basic computer or mobile technology.
• Ability to work the schedule associated with the position, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings and/or on‑call responsibilities.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, loading and unloading blood products, coolers, supplies and related materials.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, verify and deliver routine, time‑sensitive and STAT blood product orders, ensuring correct products, documentation and destination information while meeting delivery requirements.
• Maintain proper handling, chain of custody and temperature‑control requirements for blood products.
• Safely load, secure and unload blood products, supplies and equipment, following SOPs and delivery confirmation processes.
• Accurately document and track deliveries, pickups and transportation activities using established systems.
• Communicate and collaborate with hospital staff, Distribution teams and internal partners to coordinate deliveries and manage changing priorities.
• Operate Vitalant vehicles safely by performing routine vehicle inspections and following traffic laws.
