Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. is seeking an experienced fire alarm design professional in Portland to lead design efforts and ensure code-compliant solutions. You will work with BIM designers and SMEs to develop drawings, specifications, and on-site administration.

Ideal candidates bring strong NFPA knowledge, Revit proficiency, and a track record of leading mid-to-large projects while coordinating with customers and manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge and design experience with fire alarm systems and NFPA codes.
• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience in the field installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with Notifier, Edwards and Xtralis equipment.
• Knowledge of IBC, NFPA 101, NFPA 72 and NEC requirements.
• Experience leading projects and managing resources.

Responsibilities

• Preliminary assessments and concept creation for fire alarm projects.
• Lead designs with peers, SMEs, and BIM designers.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Preliminary assessments.
• Concept creation.
• Leading designs with support from your peers, SME's, and BIM designers.
• Internal and external problem resolution.
• Drawing and specification production.
• On-site construction administration services.
• Customer and vendor accessibility.

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge and design experience with Fire Alarm Systems and related manufacturers' equipment, including VESDA systems.
• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience in the field installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with the following manufacturers: Notifier, Edwards, and Xtralis.
• Knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge of general design and construction specifications.
• Experience leading projects and managing resources.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Knowledge of NFPA 75, NFPA 76, NFPA 2001, and NFPA 13 codes.
• Design experience in data centers.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale projects.
