Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a qualified engineer to lead fire alarm design efforts, coordinating with peer architects, SME's, and BIM designers. You will drive concepts, resolve issues, and produce drawings and specifications while supporting on-site construction administration and client communication.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA codes, recent experience with Notifier/Edwards/Xtralis systems, and strong leadership to manage resources across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge and design experience with Fire Alarm Systems and NFPA 72.
• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with Notifier, Edwards, and Xtralis.
• Knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge of general design and construction specifications.
• Experience leading projects and managing resources.

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.

• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience in the field installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with the following manufacturers: Notifier, Edwards, and Xtralis.
• Knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Knowledge of NFPA 75, NFPA 76, NFPA 2001, and NFPA 13 codes.
• Design experience in data centers.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale projects.
