Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. is seeking a qualified engineer to lead fire alarm system design projects in Pittsburgh. The role requires hands-on experience with design and field activities, including coordination with BIM teams and vendors.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in engineering (PE preferred), strong NFPA code knowledge, and proficiency in Autodesk Revit for drawing and specifications. On-site construction administration is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge and design experience with fire alarm systems and Notifier/Edwards/Xtralis equipment.
• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience in the field installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC).
• Knowledge of IBC/IFC and general design/construction specs.
• Experience leading projects and managing resources.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Preliminary assessments.

• Leading designs with support from your peers, SME's, and BIM designers.
• Internal and external problem resolution.
• Drawing and specification production.

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Strong knowledge and design experience with Fire Alarm Systems and related manufacturers' equipment, including VESDA systems.
• Autodesk Revit design experience.
• Experience in the field installing, inspecting or testing fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with the following manufacturers: Notifier, Edwards, and Xtralis.
• Knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge of general design and construction specifications.
• Experience leading projects and managing resources.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Knowledge of NFPA 75, NFPA 76, NFPA 2001, and NFPA 13 codes.
• Design experience in data centers.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale projects.
