Job summary

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, OH. The Life Safety Systems CSU Engineer will plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover activities across a large facility, leading fire alarm, detection, suppression, and emergency systems.

The role requires strong safety focus, excellent communication, and the ability to troubleshoot complex life safety systems in a mission-critical environment, coordinating with multiple teams and AHJs.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5–8 years of experience in mission critical facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, Hazardous Gas Monitoring, Smoke Management, Emergency Communications, and Life Safety Codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commissioning and startup plans for Life Safety Systems.
• Lead testing of Life Safety Systems including Fire Alarm, Fire Detection, Gas Detection, and Emergency Communications.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Vendors, and AHJs to ensure safe turnover and documented compliance.
• Ensure all procedures meet NFPA, IBC, IFC, OSHA, and local requirements.
• Prepare turnover packages and support handover to operations.
