Job summary

Det-Tronics seeks an Approvals Test Engineer to lead certification efforts for safety and performance standards. You will plan and conduct product testing, interface with regulatory agencies, and guide cross-functional teams to maintain compliance.

With 3+ years in testing and 1+ year in approvals, you will support NPD and sustainment programs, ensuring timely submissions and robust technical justifications across hazardous locations standards.

Qualifications

• Experience testing products and approvals/compliance engineering (min 3+ years and 1+ year in approvals).
• US citizenship, green card, or permanent resident status per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Familiar with safety and performance standards and applying them to products.
• Ability to manage multiple certification projects and coordinate with agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with hazardous location certifications (FM, CSA, ATEX, IECEx) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret applicable safety and performance standards and apply requirements to products.
• Develop certification strategies to meet global requirements.
• Create test plans and oversee tests in compliance with standards.
• Interface with third‑party certification agencies and manage projects.
• Write and review test protocols and maintain certifications and audits.
• Support design teams on approvals questions from sales, PM, and field teams.
