Job summary

Det-Tronics, a global leader in industrial life safety, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design for new product development and sustaining programs. You will define architecture, ensure manufacturability, and drive reliability and safety across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include requirements documentation, cross-functional collaboration, and rigorous testing to meet standards. This role emphasizes design for manufacturability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience including at least 3 years on electro-mechanical product development.
  • Experience using PTC Creo and Windchill (SolidWorks).
  • US citizen, green card holder, or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to mechanical strategy, architecture, and definition for NPD and sustaining products.
  • Document mechanical requirements with rationale for regulated products and test cases for subsystems.
  • Collaborate with engineers on requirements development, risk analyses, design reviews, and development deliverables.
  • Support project managers with work breakdown plans and task estimates.
  • Ensure traceability from requirements to test cases and validate with analyses/tests.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigating solutions and ensure regulatory compliance.
