Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing and servicing life insurance policies. The role involves gathering requirements, submitting to carriers, tracking exams and APS requests, and maintaining underwriting files.

The candidate will assist the Case Manager, draft correspondence, and coordinate annual policy service and renewals, while providing administrative support across the underwriting group.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.
• Ability to maintain underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting teams to place life policies and service ongoing policies.
• Gather requirements, review for completeness and submit to carriers/lenders.
• Track exams and APS requests; update Salesforce Chatter; follow through to completion.
• Assist case managers with carrier applications and follow-up.
• Monitor each case in underwriting and elevate issues when needed.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist with annual policy service requests and renewals; prepare client summaries.
