Job summary

Meridian Senior Living is seeking an Activity Assistant to design and deliver a vibrant calendar of programs for residents, including art, culture talks, music and games. You will build warm relationships with residents and families and collaborate with staff to meet social, emotional and cognitive needs.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coordinating events, mentoring volunteers, and maintaining calendars.

Qualifications

  • Strong, engaging written and verbal communication with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public; comfortable leading groups.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for connecting with older adults.
  • Creativity and initiative to design and lead a varied schedule of enriching programs for adults of all interests and abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Honest, fair, and dependable with respect for confidentiality and privacy.
  • Willingness to uphold Meridian’s Mission, Values and Policies.
  • Ability to lead, guide, train and support volunteers.
  • Ability to represent the community professionally.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Meets all health requirements and valid driver’s license without restrictions.
  • Passes a criminal background check.
  • Basic computer skills.

The Activity Assistant will assist the Activity Director design and execute plans, programs and events that meet the required needs of the community members such as socially, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
