Advancing Real Change (ARC), Inc. seeks a Life History Investigator (LHI) for non-capital cases in Baltimore, MD.

This full-time role involves leading mitigation investigations for indigent clients eligible for reconsideration and coordinating with the defense team. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in mitigation work, adheres to professional standards, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a mitigation specialist on capital and/or juvenile life without parole cases.
• Familiarity with ABA Guidelines for Mitigation Function of Defense Team in Capital Cases.
• Ability to work across cultural differences and collaborate with a defense team.

Responsabilités

• Build strong client relationships and identify interview witnesses.
• Advance case progress through records gathering and in-person interviews.
• Develop case theories and memos; coordinate with experts and attorneys.
