Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC seeks a Paramedic to provide high‑level patient care across ALS/BLS transports and hospital settings. You will work under medical direction, perform rapid primary and secondary assessments, and document care in the electronic medical record.

The role requires NC Paramedic certification and ongoing professional development, with responsibility for equipment checks, safety, and coordinating with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an NCOEMS approved Paramedic Course or USDOT centered course or similar approved Paramedic Course.
• Current North Carolina Paramedic certification required for all levels with related CPR/ALS credentials.
• Ability to operate and maintain advanced life support equipment per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with Paramedic scope of practice under Medical Director oversight.
• Assist clinical staff in evaluation, treatment, and care; document status and interventions in EMR.
• Perform vehicle inspections, stock supplies, and ensure safety and readiness of transport equipment.
• Provide education and support to staff and learners; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Load/unload patients during ALS/BLS transports and communicate critical information to the team.
