Job summary

Sequoia Living, Inc. is seeking an energetic Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and deliver activities that nurture residents’ social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being within our Bay Area communities.

You will partner with residents, families, and staff to schedule programs, prepare materials, maintain inventories, and post calendars that keep everyone informed and engaged. This role requires patience, good communication, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OBRA regulations and California Administrative Code governing activities and social services.
• Understanding aging population issues, bereavement and loss management concepts.
• Basic knowledge of exercise equipment used in activities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with residents and staff.
• Strong English written and verbal communication; organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement programs to meet residents' needs and interests, individually and in groups.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies and procure as needed.
• Prepare and post a monthly activities calendar; communicate with residents and families.
• Assist with assessments, records, plans, reports, and evaluations of participation.
• Set up and break down furniture, AV equipment, and other activity gear.
• Help run activities and assist residents to/from rooms.
• Coordinate locations and transportation for outings with vendors as needed.
• Provide direction to volunteers and vendors under the Director of Life Enrichment.
• Identify and report concerns about residents' status to management.
